Ancient Sudan and Egypt shared lands, populations, cultures, and ways of life. Hunters had long captured leopards or panthers for the robes worn by shaman or used the animals as exotic pets that they'd walk like dogs. The precedents set in ancient Sudan and Egypt are still with us today as the panther continues to be used as both pet and fashion statement as when its skin is worn as a fashionable luxury garment. And Nimrod, Nimrud was perhaps the first mythological figure to be identified with this animal as his totem. Paul Marc Washington.
